and hit two people. he intentionally crashed into the entrance of the store and the car landed itself on a beer display and witnesses say the driver got out of the car grabbed a blunt object and starting hitting people. at least one person and several employees were hurt and three were taken to the hospital in serious condition. workers are feeling uneasy this morning. >> i am shook up, it has never happened and i am a little shook up but i think it will be okay. the whole team is shook up and we will stay close and get through the day. >> the driver is described as 33 years old and he appeared to be under the influence of drugs. he faces assault and he was taken to the hospital and it is

unknown what his condition is. the other employee tries to get the door open and they will probably get a lot of curious people asking what happened whoever didn't watch the news. but a lot of them, after speaking to them they are curious to find out how their co-workers are doing and i will have an update for you later this morning. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 morning news. a woman was killed in a crash on highway 1 in bodega bay overnight. the chp said her car went off the road in sonoma county shortly before 9:30 last night. it runs alongside the road and firefighters say the woman died at the scene but her friends made it out okay. >> upon arrival, three people were out of the vehicle and one deceased was out. >> two people were taken to the

hospital with minor injuries and they have not said whether alcohol was involved and it was raining at the time of the crash. one person was injured after arraign related injury in lafayette. our cameras brought two badly damaged cars and there are reports that a third car, the one that caused the crash left the scene. highway patrol says people need to slow down when it is raining. san francisco police are searching for a gunman who shot two people on a muni bus. paul chambers is in san francisco right now and you've got a description of the suspect, paul? good morning, police have very little to go on and that's why they are asking for help. they did sends us an e-mail and i can tell you shooting happened here on mission street and the bus was stationery here

another crash in this backup and oakland fire is on the scene so it is in the shadow of this fire and look at all the slowed traffic, there have been several crashes along this stretch and the traffic is just terrible. traffic is at a standstill and if this is your commute you may not even get to the bay bridge because of all of these crashes and stalled vehicles. there is a backup as you get to the pay gate and this one is blocking both lanes and you will be out there for a bit. the alternate is 80, carquinez bridge to the westbound. back to you steve. some pretty good rain all the way to san ramon and pockets of more than just light

and he took his car came up on the sidewalk, speeded past the vending mandatory evacuation and went into where the boards have been put up and once inside the driver started attacking people. it started at 1115 and witnesses said it was this red oldsmobile which hit them before speeding onto the sidewalk and crashing into the store. the car landed on top of a beer display and he got out of the car and grabbed a blunt object and starting hitting customers and workers. witnesses hold him down until officers arrested him. workers told us exactly what happened. >> i seen a rush much people running towards me and all i heard was begun, gun, gun so i was running really fast trying to get away. i opened the exit door so

everybody could get out. >> you heard from the employee and she said she heard gun, gun, gun and she thought it was other people inside shooting at the store and instead that was the sound of the car come crashing in and he appeared to be under the influence of drugs, possibly methamphetamine and nine people suffered injuries and three were taken to the hospital and two of them were in serious condition and one of the victims was an employee. again, a lot of these employees who are coming in this morning are very sane shows to -- anxious to hear how their co- worker is doing and we will get an update on their conditions and we are waiting to hear from police to get an identity all we know is he is believed to be around 33 or 34 years old. janine de la vega, ktvu channel

2 morning news. they are investigating a fire on a tour bus which backed up traffic for hours. luckily the bus was empty when it burst into flames and it happened right near redwood parkway. he got out after smelling smoke and the fire spread to nearby trees and then it started to threaten nearby homes. they were evacuated as a precaution. >> we ran and made an assault. >> that fire was put out before it was able to spread homes and that bus driver was treated for smoke inhalation. a bus ride ended in gunfire, two people were shot in muni and paul chambers has a description of the suspect, paul? >> reporter: good morning, pam, police have very little to go on and that's why they are asking the public for their

help about the shooting which happened on a muni bus. it happened just before 10:00 and there was a shooting on a mission bus line and the bus was stationery here when the two victims were shot. one was a 25-year-old female who was slot in the torso, the other was a mail shot in the leg and it is unclear but police have released this information and he is a latino female wearing a black beanie. police do not have any motive in this casen if you have any information call police, paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 morning news. police are investigating three homicides in just one day. here is what happened yesterday, easter sunday. first shooting was at 10:00

a.m. and the second one happened just after 4:00 on international boulevard and at 8:00 last night another shooting was reported at 70th street and hawley street. at the scene, a man was riding or walking with a bicycle before he was shot. they found several shell- casings right there on the sidewalk. that video now from the first shooting on 68th avenue, police were called to the scene, one man had been shot in his car and police had not given us any motive for suspect information in any of those three shootings in oakland. it is even more reason they are hoping to increase their police force and this week, they are set to review the costly plan. they are, woulding to increase staff levels from 611 officers

to 620 and they are reporting it will cost the city $67 million and tomorrow they will discuss the budget options. they are welcoming back one of their own as a fellow firefighter returns to duty. frank ryan is returning to work after suffering a heart attacken they are battling flames after he went into cardiac arrest. friends have suited him through an extensive recovery. they are paying some of the highest sales taxes in california. san mateo has a sales tax of 9% and residents in santa clara are paying 8-point 5% and sales tax in marin county is bumped up and they are also seeing

san francisco international airport, right now they are reporting delays about 58 minutes of delays so if you have to catch a flight, just check your information before you head out to the airports. and in colorado, prosecutors are deciding whether to seek the death penalty against james holmes, he is accused of killing many people in that colorado airport and he is offering to plead guilty in exchange for taking the death penalty off the table. the man used of killing five members of his family is scheduled to come to court today. he will appear in a nevada courtroom facing multiple charges including dui. he is accused of rear-ending a van near mesquite which is 80 miles northeast of las vegas. four adults and a 14-year-old

alternate routes as well. i think people may be having trouble getting through because we had a mess on the east shore freeway because of some earlier problems. they are recovering a little bit but we had a couple of fender benders to start the morning off and we had traffic going well into richmond. traffic is lessening towards the san jose area and it is still solid towards oakland and back over to san francisco and we have a strong downpour at fairfield. it is kind much enhancing the rain line and the heaviest has been over oakland for the last hour or so and i heard some reports of standing water on 980 so slow down also on 880, back over to 13, this is headed towards the caldecott tunnel and it looks like it will pick
